Studio lessons are an innovative, engaging and a social experience! They are structured to include a focused lesson integrated with theory and technique teaching, guided practice and review, and technology.
Why it’s so effective:
At the cost of a traditional 1/2 hour lesson, you are paying for a full one-hour lesson. This structure allows for up to 4 students to be taught at the same time. I have 3-4 keyboards that are used independently so that individualized, yet cohesive teaching takes place in a variety of ways.
What it looks like:
20-Minute focused LessoN and technique
Specific music sections that have been previously practiced and mastered are reviewed as well as new technique and repertoire introduced with specific practice ideas for the upcoming week. Lessons can be tailored specifically to meet the student’s individual skills and needs.
20-Minute Guided Practice and Review
This is a time where skills are reinforced with new and creative technique practices. These skills will enhance their music playing and they will start their practicing week with confidence and understanding of what is expected. This can include work on rhythm, working on fingering techniques, or practicing sight reading skills at a keyboard
20-Minutes Technology or Game Time
This may vary from week to week, but they will work on a variety of iPad apps with headphones that will allow for another way to learn and hone their skill set. On various weeks, games are introduced to reinforce skills and develop friendships within the group.
Why group lessons:
This structure has proven to be both engaging and beneficial to the musician. It taps into all types of learners as they hear music, play along with their favorite tunes, play on a keyboard, and interact with technology to reinforce skills they are learning at their lesson. The best part? There is time to play skill-building games with their friends. The lesson variation helps the musician to have a “change of scenery” and not lose the focus of learning. There is also a sense of camaraderie and support as they work together, listen to one another, and encourage progress amongst each other.
The student will receive one full hour of lessons for the same price of a traditional 30-minute lesson. The student will also get more hands-on time with a keyboard to explore and retain more each lesson.
Students develop the feeling of being a part of a team as they work in a group setting with the benefits of a private lesson.
Let’s Break it Down:
Tuition:
Tuition is $125 per month for group lessons.
Individual lessons are $140 per month.
This is due at the beginning of every month.
